Well, I do have to credit my dear friend Kaitlin Wright from Blushed.ca for this new discovery that gets me pretty giddy every morning. I’m not one of those fitness professionals who pass on coffee – BIG fan of some caffeine over here! Take 2 shots of espresso topped with some ice, coconut water and sprinkled with cinnamon. Why? The cinnamon is great for balancing blood sugar levels, the coconut water features electrolytes and the espresso will give you a great little jolt before a workout (and likely improve your endurance). If sugar is your downfall, allow me to help. First things first, reduce your sugar consumption in the morning. If you have sugar with your breakfast, you will spike your cravings for the rest of the day. Try to stick to fruit – one with breakfast, one with your mid-morning snack (remember to always “round out” a fruit with something that contains a bit of healthy fat and some protein, to stabilize blood sugar).
