Saghi: Preparing for the Last Dress Fitting

Saghi: Preparing for the Last Dress Fitting

Less than 2 months until our wedding! I had gone for a dress fitting 2 months ago when the lady told me that the next time I went in would be the last time before she takes it in. She said I could not lose any more weight after that fitting, since she can only take the dress in once. This fitting was scheduled for next week, however I knew I’d end up losing more so I changed it for the end of May. The challenge after that fitting will be to maintain my weight and not lose more than 5 lbs. The last thing I want is my dress feeling loose on me. So Jess has helped me to come up with a workout and diet plan to help maintain my weight. I’m confident that it will...

Going Au Naturel – 2 Week Update

Going Au Naturel – 2 Week Update

Easy, this is not. But, I have managed to get rid of ALMOST all of my heavily toxic products in favour of more natural and earth-friendly ones. I am not by any means perfect at this point, and I highly doubt that I will ever be. But what I have changed so far will make a great big difference in my insides and as well in what I’m rinsing down the drain. I had to add some Aveda shampoo and conditioner to the hair department. Saghi: Goodbye to Baked Goods and Bullshit

I want to start off by telling you about my favourite breakfast smoothie! I made it this morning and finished every drop of it! I blended a small banana, 3 strawberries, a handful of spinach, 1/2 cup of almond milk and 1 tbsp of hemp seeds. I had it with a rice cake and natural peanut butter. Jess says to have produce at every meal, so I’ve been playing around with my greens and fruits for breakfast, trying to find something that is quick, clean and filling. Smoothies are working for me! One of the things I appreciate about Jess is her honesty and no-bullshit attitude. I was honest with her in letting her know I indulged in a Tim Horton’s whole grain blueberry...

Black Bean Brownies

Black Bean Brownies

Are you looking for a healthier dessert, or a healthier way to curb your fudge-y chocolate craving? This recipe is gluten, dairy and soy-free. The beans replace the flour, and give the brownies are fudge-y yet moist consistency. The brownies are even more delicious than they look – please, take my word for it. Give them a shot, take them to parties… spread the intention to eat cleaner. Last Christmas I gave bundles of these brownies as gifts to my clients – hoping they’d serve as a great supplement to the fat-laden treats we usually indulge in over the holidays. And guess what? They all LOVED them. They’ve even been requesting one or two from...

SNACKING as a SUPERPOWER

SNACKING as a SUPERPOWER

Snacks have the ability curb cravings, fill nutritional gaps, pump us with energy, increase our metabolisms, stabilize our blood sugar levels and put us in a great mood! They help fuel our workouts, re-fuel us afterwards and prepare us for a great sleep… All of these benefits help our bodies to operate at their most efficient level, and to shed excess body fat and support lean muscle. So, it’s worth learning how to snack right! (Bear in mind, different things work for different individuals – most of my posts will apply to the general public, however personal trainers’ jobs are to cater to individual needs and schedules.) Snack should be about...
