You’re ready to do the work. You just need someone who knows what they’re doing.
1:1 coaching for people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who are serious about getting strong — and smart enough to know that doing it right matters more than doing it fast.
Does this sound familiar?
You enjoy being active. Maybe you lift, maybe you walk, maybe you have a sport or activity you love. But somewhere along the way, something stopped working the way it used to.
Your shoulder's been bugging you for a couple of years. Your lower back feels “tweaked” on occasion. Your knees are making you wince at the thought of running. Or, nothing's actually wrong, but nothing feels quite right either, and you’re realizing that your body’s foundation is moving in the wrong direction. That if you don’t correct things and take care of it now, you’re going to really start to lose, and miss, your movement abilities.
You’ve tried a few different kinds of workouts, but things either felt imbalanced or actually hurt. Maybe you even grew to dread them, instead of feel energized and excited by the change they’re creating.
What most programs miss is this: getting stronger isn't just about effort. The right technique makes all the difference. If your glutes aren’t working properly, there goes the back. If the core isn’t participating, your neck starts to strain.
How We Get You There: The BIOME Method
Every client moves through the same five pillars, customized entirely to your body, your history, and your life.
Balanced biomechanics and blood sugar. We start here because most pain traces back to compensation patterns that have been building for years — and most fatigue and stubborn body composition issues trace back to blood sugar instability. We address both at the same time, because they're both roots for other problems downstream.
Integration. Core, glute, and lat integration is the foundation that makes every other movement safer, stronger, and more sustainable. If your lats aren’t working well, you may experience dysfunction in the shoulder. But the lats work best with working with the core and the glutes, for example. You will feel this difference swiftly..
Optimize sleep and nervous system resilience. Your nervous system directly impacts the tissues in the body, and your recovery. And, it is integral to the full body systems. Sleep and nervous system are non-negotiable health considerations, and make all the difference in this process.
Metabolic health. Strength training, food, and recovery working together so your body can actually do what it's built to do: build muscle, regulate energy, and stop working against you.
Energy and endurance. A few weeks in, clients ask “what’s next?” Capacity increases. Those golf holes feel like a piece of cake, you’re looking for higher hills to hikes. Suddenly, you’re asking more from your life, and that’s really the whole point.
What This Actually Looks Like
We start with a conversation — your current and past experience with exercise, what you've tried, what hasn't worked, and what you're actually hoping changes. From there, you'll complete a questionnaire so I understand your body's specific patterns and history.
Then we build your program: strength training customized to your compensation patterns and goals, nutritional guidance centered on blood sugar balance, and a level of check-in and support that matches where you are and what you need.
That last part is intentional. Some clients want hands-on, regular contact and form coaching. Others are more self-led and want accountability without the daily back-and-forth. There's no universal answer — and you don't have to guess which one is right for you. We figure that out together, on the call, based on your actual life and how you work best.
Early on, sessions are more careful and form-focused. We're paying attention, and building a foundation. As your body gets more resilient, things open up: more creative, more dynamic, more fun. Most clients tell me that within a couple of months, they feel different from the inside out — and that back pain that may have brought them to me in the first place is usually resolved within the first month or two.
Who This Is For
This is for you if you're in your 40s, 50s, or 60s and you're serious about getting strong, and doing it in a way that dramatically increases your capacity, and doesn’t shut you down afterwards.
Maybe you cycled through physio and nothing really worked, because you avoided getting strong at the same time. Doing less often backfires.
Or maybe nothing is technically wrong, but you've started to realize that your body is going to start regressing quickly unless you get behind the wheel and steer the change.
Either way, you want your fitness efforts to actually move you forward, and correct your imbalances. Not cause more pain and send you backward. You want to learn how your body really works, and to be able to train it properly for life.
This isn't the right fit if you're looking for a quick fix, chasing a number on the scale above all else, or want to be pushed hard without being taught. It's also not right for elite athletes, competitive bodybuilders, or endurance specialists — that's a different kind of coaching than what I do. I want you healthy and strong above all else, to thoroughly enjoy your life. If this wasn’t about being actually healthy and happy, I’d never be doing it this long.
What our Clients Say:
“I trained with Jessica for about five months in Southern California until she moved back to Toronto. She is hands down the best trainer that I have ever had. When I started working with Jessica, I was suffering from a herniated disc, a torn meniscus, bicep tendonitis, tight hips, digestive issues and, I was about 30 lbs overweight. I was a hot mess. Jessica was exactly what the doctor ordered.
Jessica looks at the whole picture and has a very gentle way of getting you to make seemingly small changes that pay huge dividends. Between the easily implemented nutritional changes and her very well thought out exercises, I lost 30 lbs in under three months and strengthened my core to such an extent that my back no longer causes any issues. In fact, all of the physical issues that I had when I started are gone and I gained muscle mass as well as bone density. Best of all, at no time did I feel like I was struggling. Jessica makes the workouts fun and she gives you just enough and never too much in order to keep you safe.”

“I have worked with Jessica for a number of years. She is unfailingly professional, positive and caring at all times. She has always been able to help me to set achievable goals and to set the bar high enough that I am always challenged but never bored. She is able to accommodate injuries that occurred years before I met her and zero in on patterns of compensation that need work and strengthening. She has an uncanny knack for being able to be supportive and positive without being fake and saccharine. Her sincerity and genuine caring, her generosity of spirit and sense of humour make working with Jessica a joy. Not only is working with Jessica a joy, but working with Jessica gets results.”

A different approach
There's a reason some people train for decades and stay pain-free, and others train just as hard and keep getting hurt. It almost always comes down to the same thing: biomechanics.
Maybe it sounds boring, but it’s woven into the fun workouts so intelligently that you’ll never even know you’re being so constructive.
I've spent 25 years reading how bodies move, finding the patterns that are causing problems, and teaching people how to correct them. I use deliberate, well-constructed, intelligently progressive training that builds real structural strength from the inside out.
If you've been looking for someone who will actually pay attention to how you move, and not run you through a risky, generic program — you're in the right place.
